How Tall Will The Dubai Tower Be?

The Tower Dubai

Apparently, The Tower Dubai will be several meters taller than the Burj Khalifa. Towards the top, the tower slims down into a streamlined needlepoint-like tip. The Dubai Tower is being constructed by Emaar Properties, the same firm that built the magnificent Burj Khalifa. The Dubai Tower will not only be tall, but will create the impression of piercing the eternal blue skies of Dubai with its needle-like tip.

What Will The Dubai Tower Look Like When Done?

The Tower

The super-slim tower will resemble a blooming lily, with Islamic style minarets symbolizing the lily’s petals.  The slender column of the tower will resemble the lily’s slender stem supported by strong cables that will appear like the struts of the lily’s leaves. The tower soars up to its, constricting as it goes upwards, till the top part stretches into a needlepoint shaped like a lily’s bud.

What’s On Top?

On the top, in the bud-like needlepoint tip lies The Pinnacle Room, which is surrounded by several observation decks. These will be the world’s highest observatory decks, from which visitors can obtain incredible 360 degree views of the city. The top of the tower will have a luxury hotel, a museum, 18 to 20 shopping malls, plus restaurants and other tourist facilities.

The glass-enclosed balconies rotate outward, which will be a fascinating sight from the ground and from above. The sun’s rays will sparkle off the rotating, high-polished, high-density crystalized glass, exploding rainbows of light around the tower. It’ll be breathtaking – a unique and thrilling vantage point from which one can observe the amazing sights of Dubai Creek and other landmarks.

Is The Dubai Tower Environmentally-Friendly?

These days, it is not sufficient to just build tall and magnificent structures – one has to make sure that the design is smart, safe, technologically sound and environment-friendly. The Dubai Tower therefore boasts green corridors all through its VIP Observation Garden Decks. When finished, the observatory decks will resemble Babylon’s Hanging Gardens. With all the greenery, the Dubai Tower will be more than environmentally-friendly. Power for the structure will be gleaned through strategically placed photo-voltaic tiles. This means the tower will not be utilizing conventionally-generated electricity to run the museum, shops and other facilities.

What’s Behind The Dubai Tower Concept?

Everything is inspired by something or the other. The Dubai Tower is based on structures such as New York City’s new World Trade Centre transportation hub and the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences complex in Valencia, Spain. The Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls has designed the Dubai Creek Harbor’s redevelopment project and the Dubai Tower. Both projects are being jointly developed by Emaar Properties and Dubai Holdings.

The Dubai Tower project will cost Dubai $1.2 billion and will be labeled as the 21st century’s inspiring new icon. The tower is strategically placed near the Ras Al Khor National Wildlife Sanctuary and the historic Dubai Creek, which see millions of visitors each year. The Dubai Tower will be ready for a magnificent launch before 2020’s Dubai World Expo.

Dubai is busy constructing so many marvelous tourist attractions, that tourists are already spoiled for choice! The thing about The Dubai Tower and other recent man made structures is that all of them are very environmentally-friendly. Dubai takes environment conservation and protection of natural resources very seriously, which is why there is so much emphasis on greenery and solar-generated electricity. We cannot wait for the Dubai Tower to be completed, can you?
